Back when Child World was around, the internet & ordering products on-line simply didn’t exist in the form they do now.
Almost everyone ended up going to a brick & mortar store.
After Black Friday, it was progressively busy until around noon or so on Christmas Eve.
A few days before Christmas any half-way decent toy was sold out – not to mention any of that year’s hottest toys, which normally lasted on the shelves for a matter of minutes. Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Mario 3, Cabbage Patch Kids, Teddy Ruxpin, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, just to name a few…
Yet there was one group of shoppers who just didn’t understand that – clueless divorced dads. Not every divorced dad was like that – it was usually the ones who resorted to large amounts of alcohol. They would curse & sometimes threaten to get violent – and some would even harass other customers. Employees & customers alike couldn’t wait until the season was over…
