Here is my big “Attaboy” from my tenure at Child World.  Prior to the register descriptions actually printing a short description of the item, each & every SKU used to read “MERCHANDISE”.

I was the first one in our store who noticed the descriptions printing, on or about January 2 of 1989 or 1990.

After several weeks, I noticed that certain items had a blank next to the SKU, where the description should be.  I started collecting some of these SKUs & looked thru our monthly SKU book (a very thick book!) showing all SKUs that we carried – trying to see if I saw anything different.

I found something, and wrote a letter to corporate.  Here is their response:
