In reply to <a href="https://childworld.rocks/store-locations/michigan-locations/#comment-26286">Peter Panda</a>.

Just additional clarification here. The former Staples in Roseville (which is pictured here) was the Children’s Palace. In fact – a few days ago, the landlord pulled off the red siding and it’s exposed a perfectly intact label scar of “Childrens Palace” as well as the scar of where the Palace/Castle turrets are.
The toy store location (in the area that JC Penney) is now located in was Lionel’s Kiddie City. That shopping plaza also had a Farmer Jacks (which was mentioned by somebody above).

The RTA Northwest Hub / Greyhound is the the building that housed Children's Palace. It is the same building, although it is now unrecognizable today. After Children's Palace closed it was an auto parts store. After that closed it sat vacant for several years. The RTA remodeled the Children's Palace building for the new hub. The building was spilt in n half so a daycare could be opened. They also did this downtown st Wright Stop Plaza hub. Although Wright Stop never found a leader for a daycare the Northwest Hub did briefly. After the daycare closed that part of the building which has a sperate entrance sat empty for awhile. The local Greyhound operator lost down his lease in downtown Dayton had moved to Trotwood to the now empty Cashland that once was a Mc Donald's then moved into the space. The former Best Buy across the street from Children's Palace , former Salem Mall is actually the same building that housed Hill's Department Store. Best Buy just did a remodel to the building. After that has sat vacant over a decade it is now a special GFS grocery store in 2023. This was because a deal was worked out with GFS and Trotwood after the city became a food desert in 2017.

These videos bring back so many memories . Although I was a Children's Palace kid in the end it was all the same Child World / Children's Palace. Although the magic of once was can not every captured again I can say that after a better part of a decade of working out a plan to bring Child's Palace back some how , some way . In 2022 to mark the 30th anniversary of the closing of Children's Palace my dreams came true . Of course this was not breaking news, it was done quietly. Just a single Children's Palace pop-up location for the holiday shopping season in Dayton, Ohio. At just over 1,200 square feet we opened on October 11th.We had no castle, no turrets. All we hag was grid wall, a love of nostalgia for Children's Palace and for toys.
And this past Christmas we were able to go from a single pop-up Children's Palace to three locations.Again these were not the Children's Palaces of grand scale. The three stores were about 4,200 square each. I hope with these success of the seasonal stores we can carry on to new , bigger and better things for Children's Palace in 2024. As the Children's Palace brand turns 55 a new year will be one to remember.

I definitely remember the Livonia Mall location. Got some Transformers there in the late 80s. A WalMart sits there now.

I don’t remember there being a Children’s Palace on what would’ve then still been Cowan Road in Westland. I’m wondering when it closed, as I do remember Best Buy at that location before it moved to its bigger store just slightly to the east circa the turn of the century.
