I’m 35 now, but have the faintest memory as a very young child of visiting the Palace location in Viewmont, near Scranton, before it closed. I think my parents bought me a game cartridge for the original Game Boy. This memory persists because it was the only time I was at the store because we lived closer to Wilkes-Barre. I remember the castle-like facade and the brightly lit interior. My family probably incorporated it into a trip to Sugarmans in Eynon. Oh, the mind’s eye.

Cheese’s down the hill. Lots of good memories from going up there.

Whenever I was younger, I used to visit the Children’s Palace store in Bridgeville, PA. I used to like to go there a lot. Thankfully, the building is still there … and a Sears Outlet store is there now.

I also used to watch their videocassette, which is called the “Video Toy Chest,” whenever I was younger.

I will remember Children’s Palace for a long time!
